I was excited to see this article on The Protiviti View Blog from Pittsburgh’s own Jeff Weber.  The article, in response to the recent Amazon Web Services outage, provides some recommendations on how IT organizations should prepare for outages with their cloud providers.  Ultimately, I think the biggest lesson learned is that organization should not let the AWS outage effect their decisions to adopt cloud technologies.  Rather they should plan for potential outages and test that plan periodically.

Were you impacted by the AWS outage?  How does your company respond to these types of events?
