Thank you to our Veterans and an opportunity to give back
November 11, 2014
Across the world today (whether as Veterans Day here in the US or Armistice Day in other countries), we take a moment to recognize the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make to protect the freedoms that we cherish. To those who have or are currently serving, Thank You! Your sacrifices do not go unrecognized even if we don’t do enough to support you. If you know a Veteran, take some time today to say thank you.
Today I registered to run my fourth consecutive UPMC Pittsburgh Half Marathon on Sunday, May 3, 2015. My choice to register today was very intentional. This year, I’ll “Run for a Reason” as a part of Team Red, White, and Blue (a charity that works to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity) and recognizing and remembering those in my family who are of have served our country.
